Lake Resources

In Lake County, the Lake County Health Department has an Environmental Services agency which tracks the health of the major Lake County lakes.  They are also available to assist with any outbreak of toxic blue-green algae on any waterbody.  The Environmental Services agency assesses the major lakes every five to seven years, which is a significant help to lake owners and Watershed Partnerships.

In Cook County, stormwater responsibility lies with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District.
